Boys Like Girls

Getting together in 2005, the all-American group quickly began work on several demo recordings which they uploaded to the Internet in a bid to attract an audience. The punt worked and it wasn't long before their emo look and lyrics had a huge following and noted industry heads Matt Galle and Matt Squire became involved. Off the back of a tour sponsored by the PureVolume music website that made them famous, the boys hit the studio to work on their debut album. The eponymous 'Boys Like Girls' was released in 2006 and despite a slow start, eventually went gold in the US in 2008. Three years of touring followed the album's release and with a huge amount of popularity gained, the group released 'Read Between the Lines' on DVD, a documentary about life on the road and featuring songs from the album. At the start of 2009, the band were back in the studio recording their second album 'Love Drunk' which shot into the top ten of the Billboard 200 during its first week of release. After rumours of a split which turned out to just be a short hiatus to enable solo projects, their third album 'Crazy World' was released in 2012. A world tour in 2016 marked the tenth anniversary of their debut album.
